Want to help stop developers from bringing coal through Oakland? Join us for a hands-on speakers training designed to help supporters become more confident and effective advocates for the No Coal in Oakland campaign.
Whether you’re brand new or have been organizing for years, there’s a role for you. Participants will choose from three breakout sessions focused on different ways to make an impact:
• Talking to the Press – Learn how to communicate with reporters and tell the story of why Oakland must remain coal-free.
• Speaking at Public Meetings – Build the skills to deliver compelling public comments that influence elected officials and decision-makers.
• Talking to Your Neighbors – Practice having persuasive conversations that grow community support for the campaign.
No previous public speaking experience is necessary. If you care about protecting Oakland’s air and standing up for our communities, we hope you’ll join us.
